Fertilizer Overview
Fertilizers are food for the healthy crops, primarily provide three nutrients: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). Nitrogen supports vegetative growth. Phosphorus improves roots and flowering. Potassium strengthens resistance to environmental assaults, from extreme temperatures to pest attacks.
Urea is the most important nitrogenous fertilizer in the market, with the highest Nitrogen content (ie 46 %). It is a white crystalline organic chemical compound. Urea is neutral in pH and can adapt to almost all kinds of soils. It is a waste product formed naturally by metabolizing protein in humans as well as other mammals, amphibians and some fish. Urea is widely used in the agricultural sector both as a fertilizer and animal feed additive.
The main function of Urea fertilizer is to provide the plants with nitrogen to promote green leafy growth and make the plants look lush green. Urea also aids the photosynthesis process of plants. Urea primarily used to bloom the crop growth that results in higher crop production & economic return to farmers.

How to Use Urea Fertilizer?
- Urea should be applied at the time of active vegetative growth in split doses as top dress or any other method of application. It should not come in direct contact with the seeds.
- Since Urea is highly Nitrogen-concentrated, it should be used in combination with earth or sand before its application.
- Urea should not be applied when the soil contains free water or likely to remain wet for three or four days after application.
Tips of Blending Urea with Other Fertilizers
Urea can easily be blended with Mono-ammonium Phosphate (MAP) or Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP). However, Urea must not be mixed with any superphosphate unless applied immediately after blending as Urea reacts with superphosphate liberating water molecules. This will produce a damp material that is hard to store and apply.
